Process Adjustment and Monitoring in the Gear Grinding Process

چکیده
When a process demonstrates complex cause-and-effect relationships, adjustments are often used, such as automatic control (APC). On the other hand, statistical (SPC) is used to identify causes of abnormality. For example, we use charts for monitoring. However, in with adjustments, careful consideration should be taken toward choosing characteristics abnormalities may go undetected through sole monitoring output.

Integration of Sequential Process Adjustment and Process Monitoring Techniques
When a manufacturing process is subject to random shocks, detecting the changes in the process and adjusting an out-of-target process are two essential functions of process quality control. Traditional SPC techniques emphasize process change detection, but do not provide an explicit process adjustment method. This paper discusses a general sequential adjustment procedure based on Stochastic App...
متن کاملIn-process force monitoring for precision grinding semiconductor silicon wafers
Forces generated during precision wafer grinding are small and present challenges for accurate and reliable process monitoring. In this work, these challenges are met by incorporating noncontact displacement sensors into an aerostatic spindle that is calibrated to measure grinding forces from the relative motion between the spindle rotor and stator. This arrangement allows the calculation of gr...
متن کاملA Review and Evaluation of Statistical Process Control Methods in Monitoring Process Mean and Variance Simultaneously
In this paper, first the available single charting methods, which have been proposed to detect simultaneous shifts in a single process mean and variance, are reviewed. Then, by designing proper simulation studies these methods are evaluated in terms of in-control and out-ofcontrol average run length criteria (ARL). The results of these simulation experiments show that the EWMA and EWMS methods ...
متن کاملControlling Change: Process Monitoring and Adjustment During Transition Periods
Statistical control implies stable random variation about a target value that is produced by some common cause. In many manufacturing systems, the majority of the processing time is spent in the steady-state phase. Hence, it makes sense that a system is in statistical control most of the time and the operator or decision-maker should avoid introducing unnecessary variation by making adjustments...
متن کاملModeling of the Process of Coal Grinding
T. Wyleciał, H. Radomiak, D. Urbaniak, Częstochowa University of Technology, Czestochowa, Poland The use of coal in the steel industry, similarly as in the whole national ec onomy, is often preceded by its pre-treatment. Coal is mined in the form of big solids, but, being in such a form, it can’t be combusted, sintered, or gasifi ed. Therefore, it needs t o be appropriately grinding. In the pap...
